► Cảm biến nhiệt độ thermocouple (thermo => Nhiệt độ; couple = cặp) : được gọi là cặp nhiệt điện, dùng để đo nhiệt độ; hoạt động dựa trên nguyên lý " hiệu ứng nhiệt điện ". Hiệu ứng này xảy ra khi hai kim loại khác nhau được nối lại với nhau một đầu sẽ sinh ra một dòng điện rất nhỏ được tính bằng milivon (mV). Khi nhiệt độ tại điểm nối này thay đổi sẽ làm cho dòng điện bên trong thay đổi => dựa vào tín hiệu điện này sẽ đọc được giá trị nhiệt độ.

► Ứng dụng can nhiệt thermocouple:

    +  Can nhiệt loại cặp nhiệt điện có cả 2 loại : Loại dây và loại củ hành (sứ). Với sự đa dạng và phong phú về mặt cấu tạo. Nên cảm biến loại cặp nhiệt điện thermocouple được ứng dụng rất nhiều trong việc đo nhiệt độ gần như tất cả các khu vực.

    + Tuy nhiên đối với các ứng dụng đòi hỏi nhiệt độ cao khoảng 800 ºC đến 1800 ºC thì các loại cảm biến nhiệt độ loại RTD không thể đáp ứng được. Bắt buộc phải dùng can nhiệt thermocouple.

    + Trong các loại can nhiệt thermcouple thì can nhiệt K được sử dụng phổ biến nhất ở nhiệt độ Max 1200 ºC. Do giá can nhiệt loại K rất cạnh tranh so với các loại can nhiệt khác cùng tính năng như can J. Mặt khác phù hợp với các chuẩn kết nối thông dụng, dễ dàng mua thay thế cảm biến bị hỏng,..

    + Đối với các lò đốt nồi hơi, nhiệt độ cao nhất có thể lên tới 1600 – 1700 ºC. Nhiệt độ này phải dùng can nhiệt loại S hoặc B.
